Abigail was a Civil War nurse who escaped a difficult family life and nursed soldiers in a prison. She agrees to marry Jeremiah on his death bed and go to his family home to care for his sister and help with the horses, something she grew up doing. When she's been at the family home for awhile she is in for a big surprise!
Throughout the books she is both learning and helping others.
I had a hard timer getting into this book. I didn't feel drawn to the characters in the way I normally do. While there were several interesting situations that did come up, I just did not fully enjoy the story line.
