This is a powerfully good book!
Lynn Austin writes about her journey to Israel. At the time she was going through some struggles in her life. Throughout each of the chapters she talks about what she saw and both the historical and the Biblical history behind every place she saw. I learned some interesting information about some of the things I read about. She also talked about the lessons she learned from each place and how it could help her in the struggles she was going through. There was an application portion as well of how we could apply it to our lives. Each chapter ended with a prayer.
This book is very well written and I highly recommend it. There were many areas in the book where she talked about the lessons she learned from what she saw and how she could apply it to her life, where I got thinking about how I could apply it to my life. I think there is lessons that can be learned in this book for almost anyone. It states on the front cover of the book "My Journey to a Deeper Faith in the Land Where Jesus Walked' That is so true. There is much that can be learned in this book that will help to anyone to have a deeper faith, whether you can take a trip to the Holy Land or not.
I know that some of these chapters have got me thinking.
I got this book free from Bethany House to review.

Critical Reaction by Todd M. Johnson
I am really enjoying getting FREE books thanks to Bethany House. This was my first free fiction book that I received. It was so good!
You can tell by reading this book the author is well versed in the law. I don't want to say to much in my review as I don't want to give away any spoilers!
For a debut book, this author did a remarkable job! He draws you in from the very start and keeps you wanting to read on and find out what happens. It was all I could do to keep myself from skipping to the last chapter to find out what happens! As you get closer to the end I found myself unable to put the book down, which resulted in some very late nights!
I felt drawn into the book and could easily see the characters in the book and the situations and areas they found themselves in.
I very highly recommend this book to anyone! It will make a great Christmas present for that avid reader you know.

The Jesus Story by Dr. William H Marty
While I did enjoy this book and how it put the life of Jesus together in chronological order, I found the ready to be slightly choppy and that it didn't flow very smoothly. It was nicely broken into categories and had a summary at the end of each chapter (or section). I felt there could have been better transitions between paragraphs and the events that were covered.
I was also disappointed that the main Scriptures used was not KJV. I wanted to put this in my church library, but now I am not to sure.

Moved
Well it's been a week since I've moved. So far sharing living space again seems to be going well.
I think I am going to like living here. It's a much better place then Highfield! I am still amazed at how quiet it is here! I was back to my old apartment today to clean (ugh) and I kept hearing people in the hallways and toward the end my neighbor above me was up to her old tricks doing I don't know what. Here the only noise I hear is traffic! The traffic noise is a lot heavier, but I don't mind that. I am also within walking distance to Sobeys, Superstores, Lawtons, Shoppers, Dollaroma and best of all Frenchies! It does take longer to get to work now and over an hour to get to church on Sunday morning but I don't mind. I definitely think I will learn more patience living here. :)
The saddest part of the move was that I couldn't bring Reid with me. :( I miss him so much. When I put him in his cage and handed him off to Anthony, he was back up as far as he could get in his cage and crying so hard. My poor baby. He has been spotted a couple of times at his new (maybe temporary) home, but he's gone back into hiding. It looks like his slowly adjusting. At least he seems to be doing OK. Today when I went back to my apartment to clean, as I was putting the key in the door, I thought to myself that Reid would be there when I opened the door. When I opened the door it hit me. No Reid. :(
I did a fun morning though. I went to the Christmas craft fair at the Dartmouth Sportsplex. It's hard to believe that Christmas is less then 2 months away! I did get some great handmade gifts for Mom, Jody, my secret-sis and my nephews. Of course I got myself some earrings and fudge. Mmmmm fudge. (If it weren't for the fact that I have brushed my teeth for the night and I don't want to brush them again, I would have some!) I also got a birthday gift for Mom. Mom's birthday is in June. :P
I checked my mail (even though it's being forwarded to me here) at my old place as they won't forward packages. Sure enough there were my FREE samples!!! Very glad they arrived before the end of the month. I love free products! (and some will become stocking stuffers for either Dad or Stephen) I just hope my free book I am getting to read and review gets here before the end of the month or is forwarded to me. My fingers are crossed on that one!

Ticked off
I am beyond ticked off tonight. I was feeling cruddy (still am) and didn't feel like cooking so I decided to order in Swiss Chalet. I placed the order at 7:40. While I was waiting for my delivery I decided to watch an episode of Property Brothers. (I call them my eye candy. :P ) I watched a full episode. No delivery. OK. It said "as soon as possible" for delivery. Sometimes it takes an hour, it should be here soon. I watched another one. When that was almost over STILL no delivery. It's now 9:15. I called the number for Swiss Chalet. I was told it was out for delivery. There are two Swiss Chalet's near me, both within a less then 10 minute drive. By 10:00 STILL no delivery. By now not only am I ticked off, but they went from getting a generous tip (due to tonight's weather) to nothing. Also by now the restaurant is closed. I called again. This time I was told my order was cancelled!!!!! WHAT???????!!!! I certainly didn't cancel my order!!!!! The guy I was speaking with put me on hold and talked to his supervisor. Both of them looked into it, but couldn't figure out why it had been cancelled! They did get me a $15.00 credit on my account, but that's not enough to cover a full meal with them. Close to it, but not enough. My order tonight with my quarter chicken dinner (white meat), set of 4 cans of pop and cake was just under $25. It's now after 10 and my stomach is letting me know I need to give it some food. Instead of a beautiful chicken dinner and a really delicious piece of chocolate fudge cake, I had a toasted pb&j. Yes, not getting the delivery saved me money, but that doesn't mean I am less ticked off right now!
